Most size charts for boxer briefs were written for men's bodies. Most charts for women's briefs were written for a cut that sits somewhere else entirely. If you're a woman, trans or non-binary and you wear boxer briefs, you've probably been guessing somewhere in between. Here's how to stop guessing.
Measure two numbers, not one
Boxer briefs sit at your waist and wrap around your hips and the top of your thighs, so you need both.
- Waist: around your natural waist, where your body curves in. Snug, not tight.
- Hips: around the fullest part. Keep the tape level with the floor.
Measure over nothing, or very little. A pair of jeans adds more than you'd think.
Our size chart
| Size | Waist | Hips |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 64 to 68 cm / 25 to 26.5 in | 88 to 92 cm / 34.5 to 36 in |
| S | 69 to 73 cm / 27 to 28.5 in | 93 to 97 cm / 36.5 to 38 in |
| M | 74 to 78 cm / 29 to 30.5 in | 98 to 102 cm / 38.5 to 40 in |
| L | 79 to 83 cm / 31 to 32.5 in | 103 to 107 cm / 40.5 to 42 in |
| XL | 84 to 88 cm / 33 to 34.5 in | 108 to 112 cm / 42.5 to 44 in |
| XXL | 89 to 93 cm / 35 to 36.5 in | 113 to 118 cm / 44.5 to 46 in |
The same chart applies to all three lengths: 5cm, 7cm and 11cm.
When your waist and hips point to different sizes
Go with the larger one. This happens a lot, especially if you have hips, and it's the most common reason boxer briefs feel wrong.
Here's why larger wins. A pair that's too small at the hips pulls at the leg openings, and the legs ride up. If you wear them against chafing, that's your coverage gone. If you wear a pad, the gusset gets pulled too, and the pad shifts with it. A little room at the waist is the smaller problem.
If you're used to men's boxer briefs
Start with the size on the label of a pair you already wear:
- Men's S: blu S, or M if you have more curve at the hips
- Men's M: blu M or L
- Men's L: blu L or XL
- Men's XL: blu XL
Men's cuts are sized mostly by the waist. If your hips are noticeably wider than your waist, you'll usually land one size up.
Buying them as a gift
Asking someone for their hip measurement gives the surprise away fast. A few ways around it:
- Check a pair they already wear. Boxer briefs, men's or otherwise, then use the conversion above.
- Check their jeans. A size like W29 is the waist in inches, and our chart has inches too. Treat it as a starting point, since jeans sizes often run generous.
- Ask someone who'd know. A partner, a flatmate, the friend who keeps borrowing their clothes.
- Still unsure? Go one size up. Same rule as above: a bit roomy is easier to live with than a bit tight.
What we don't have yet
Our sizes run from XS to XXL. That doesn't fit everyone, and we know it. We're a small brand and every new size means a new production run, so we're adding sizes as fast as orders let us. If you're outside the chart, write to us. It helps us decide what to make next.
One more thing size can't fix: if the legs ride up even in the right size, try a longer cut. More on that in why longer cuts sit better.
